July 6

Week 10

New things that Rose has learned

– Rose saw her first ever firework show for the 4th of July!

– With a little bit of help from Mom or Dad for balancing she is using her legs to stand up for a little while.

New things that Mommy has learned

– When I was pregnant Tom would always ask me what Rose would enjoy and what her personality was going to be like. This week I think that we have seen the first glimpses of the answers to those questions. For example during the fireworks Rose was curious and mellow. That is how she is most of the time but when she gets upset watch out. The flip is switched and she is no longer mellow.

– Taking care of a baby is defiantly a two person job. I take care of Rose the majority of the time but I am super grateful when Tom is there to help by giving me a break. Like when I stayed up to late and Rose decides to wake up at 3 am, 5 am, and by 8 am I can not for the life of me keep my eyes open.

Week 9

New things that Rose has learned

– Rose got her first stuffy nose which made eating and breathing at the same time hard to do. She also found that the sucky ball thing really sucks!

– She found herself in the bathroom mirror and kept looking in fascination. That was to start when she was a lot older like a teenager.

New things that Mommy has learned

– For a couple days Rose didn’t, to put it nicely, have a stinky diaper. By the third day I was a little worried but in the afternoon she finally went. I never knew that I would get excited and clap for poo but I did. In thinking about it I am going to be just enthusiastic when it comes to potty training.

– I felt like a super Mom during a trip to wally world Rose was fussy using her “I am really mad” scream/cry and I had to hold her while pushing a full cart. That was a tricky feat not to hit other elderly customers.

New things that Mommy has learned

– Some days just holding your baby and getting NOTHING done is the right thing to do. Even if it goes against what you think you should be doing.

– By unpacking one box at a time get a house put back together

– You really will do anything for your child for example talking to yourself because you read somewhere that the baby’s development will increase if you talk normally to them.
